It’s Vegan MoFo! What’s that, you ask? Month of Vegan Food! Here at VeganBreak.com we’ll be doing four fun-filled one-week challenges throughout the month of September. The goal? Debunk myths about vegan food. I hope you’ll join in!
Week 1 ★ Gluten-Free! During this week we’ll be cutting out all wheat products to show that only is it possible to be gluten-free and vegan, but it’s easy! I’ll be using this beautiful cookbook as a guide: Great Gluten-Free Vegan Eats. But when you’re looking for gluten-free vegan recipes, there is no shortage! There are more than ten specifically gluten-free vegan cookbooks on Amazon. Go get ‘em!
Week 2 ★ Raw! I’ve been talking about doing a raw food “challenge” for ages. Well, the time is now! I’ll be turning to raw goddesses like Fully Raw Kristina, Gena from Choosing Raw and Em from This Rawsome Vegan Life for inspiration. I’m excited to start making great use of my Blendtec blender, juicer and spiralizer! Smoothies, green juices and zucchini noodles, here I come. Won’t you join me?
Week 3 ★ Vegan on $5/Day! Whitney over at EcoVeganGal.com recently posted an awesometastic Extreme [Healthy Vegan] Cheapstakes video which inspired this Week 3 challenge. Watch it below, and get your game-face on! I ordered Eat Vegan on $4.00 a Day from Amazon and will be using it as my guide. My goal: to prove and document that vegan does not necessarily mean expensive! Anyone, anywhere, can do it.
Week 4 ★ Restaurant-A-Day! OK, we’ve made it through the tough part. Now it’s time to celebrate! I’ll be going to a different restaurant each day and documenting how easy and delicious it can be to eat out as a vegan. I’ll show that whether you’re in berkeley or Alaska, you can dine just fine.
