Take a peek at one of my all-time favorite vegan restaurants: Great Sage in Clarksville, Maryland. Not only is the food here amazing (the spinach artichoke dip is to die for), but the atmosphere and the mood of the restaurant is warm, friendly, peaceful, and a fabulous place to bring meat-eating friends. They use the ever-popular Daiya cheese, they have many gluten-free options, and they change their menu up frequently. Better yet, they often have benefits to support Farm Sanctuary, PCRM, and other fabulous organizations, and have some great veg-related videos and bumper stickers available for sale up front.
Right next door there is a great natural foods store store called “Roots Market” that has an overwhelming selection of vegan options, a earth-friendly clothing and gift shop called “Nest,” and even an eco-conscious companion animal supply shop called “Bark!” If you’re ever in Maryland be sure to stop by–you won’t be disappointed!
