Second Largest Farm Animal Rescue in U.S. History

Last week I joined many others in a massive rescue effort after 50,000 egg-laying hens had been abandoned at a California factory farm. They were left locked in battery cages without food or water for two weeks. By the time they were found, one-third of the hens had perished, and the rest were starving and near death. Sanctuaries, shelters, rescue groups and volunteers worked together and rescued over 4,500 of the hens, who will have the opportunity to live out their lives in peace at animal sanctuaries.

Please take a moment to watch this video I put together documenting this rescue effort, and remember that every time you sit down to eat you have a choice. You can choose compassion, or you can choose to support industries that exploit, neglect, mutilate and needlessly slaughter billions of animals each year. Please choose kindness, and leave eggs and other animal products off your plate!

If you are so moved to make a donation to help care for the 4,500 rescued hens, Animal Place, Harvest Home and Farm Sanctuary can use anything you can spare. Thank you!
